Today is the 9th wedding anniversary for my wife Kookkai and I. Somehow she’s put up with me and my shenanigans for that long – an enormous feat to be sure.
It was my wife’s influence that helped me to push past the self doubt and start working for myself many years ago, and it has been her continuous support that’s kept me going. Without her I am sure I would be eating nothing but frozen food every night of the week, and never get out from behind my computer. She has helped me more than she will ever know, and she knows she’s helped me a lot. I am truly lucky to have her in my life.
I’m very happy to see her getting her own business off the ground, teaching Thai cooking classes and offering cuisine consulting at Thai With Me. Kookkai is from Thailand, and her entire family is very entrepreneurial. Both her father and mother have owned their own businesses, with her brothers following suit. And if you’ve ever met anyone from Thailand, you would know they are infamous for their powers of negotiations, with my wife being no exception.
We were blessed with a beautiful daughter – Palamee – almost 3 years ago. This little girl is growing up so fast. Being a father is the most fantastic experience of my life, and seeing her progress on a daily basis fills my heart with pride and joy. The schools here in Minnesota are helping foster her learning, and at home we continue and help her imagination run wild. She is truly a light in our lives.
While we have had our ups and downs, there have been more ups. And through it all we stay together, we work together, we raise our daughter together. So thank you honey for the past 10 years. I look forward to many more with you.
